Gaura and Belwa are both villages in Mariahu tehsil (sub-district) of Jaunpur district, while Mariahu is also the name of the tehsil headquarters and the nearest town to these villages. Gaura village has a population of 2,142 people and an area of 205.73 hectares 1 . Belwa village has a population of 3,228 people and an area of 434 hectares 2 . Both villages are part of Machhlishahr assembly and parliamentary constituency. Mariahu town has a population of 22,051 people and is located 23 km away from Jaunpur district headquarters 3 .
